Week 26 (24-30 December 2018)

I had to take a picture of this advertisement sign close to the mission office to wish you all a wonderful year 2019.

Monday December 24th we had a get together with the Efate and Tanna Zones for a little bit of celebration.  We watched the First Presidency Christmas Devotional then we had a gift exchange and we ate a very nice lunch ( sandwich bar).  Then we had a few games.  We had a lot of fun watching the missionaries try to open a wrapped gift using two big spoons after putting on a hat, scarf and oven mittens.  Of course they had to do it before someone else rolled a 6 on the die.



The 25th and 26th we were able to talk to our children while missionaries were also calling home.  We had some missionaries calling from the mission office and the other ones from Church.  It was supposed to be the mission home but we are still struggling with our internet. I am still working on patience.  It is a lifelong process.😁

We struggled to make a connection on Thursday to wish our little Skylar a happy birthday ( 2 years old).  We could not connect at the mission home and it was hard at the mission office also.  Finally, we were able to do a messenger video.  These  little grand-maman and grand-papa were very happy.
She blew out the candles before the happy birthday song was over.😂

Even though we have been struggling with the internet, technology is pretty awesome.  We got a picture on messenger showing us our Coralie eating "une gibelotte" and it looked so good we made one for ourselves and ate it with her from a distance

Saturday was a full p-day in awhile. We went exploring to find nice beaches  for when the family will come to visit..  Following are our discoveries:

And Blue Lagoon only 2 minutes from Eton Beach.  That was a fun one:




It was such a relaxing day.  The weather has been ideal these last two days.  Not too warm and a cooling breeze.  After coming back from our excursions to find all these beaches, we had to jump in the pool.  I know, ridiculous to be around all these beautiful places and not going into the ocean or the lagoon.  Next time.

It is sobering to think that all this beauty and peace can change in a matter of seconds.

The highlight of our week was talking with Wesley for his birthday with a bonus hello from Jacob, Mason, Calvin and Arianne.  He is now 6 years old.  He is such a sweet boy and we were very happy he talked to us for almost 30 minutes!!!  We were thrilled.  We usually get a quick hello then a quick goodbye followed by a  I love you because he is busy playing . We could have talked a lot longer but we had to leave for a meeting.  A very close second was a chat with Halle, Bella, Jaden, Audrée and Jason.  Short but very sweet.  These conversations, Messenger, Facebook and pictures are such a support in these crazy times.   Like these sweet faces to look at every time we feel like screaming, gets us back in our zen zone and making us smile.                                                                           This week was a blast!  We came back Monday from Solomon Islands.  Very glad the flights have not been cance

2021 Month 3:4 (22-28 March)

Most important event this week.  Our sweet Audrée's birthday. We ended this week by chatting with her.  We are so proud of all our children and grandchildren.   We love them "gros comme le ciel" and we miss them so much.  I woke up this morning with a message from our Coralie who opened the door to memory lane for me. She sent me this letter I send her at least 10 years ago for a school project about how was school for her grand-maman when I was in second grade. After reading this letter again, I started remembering some stories to help us learn how to read.  I found online the book and some stories back then.  It was so fun to reminisce. Do you remember the March 13 entry? Tender mercy #8 Saturday morning we woke up to a miraculous news.  Go back and read it if you do not remember.  Here is Elder Kema being reunited with his long lost, almost destroyed suitcase. 2020 Semaine 29 (13-19 juillet)

What happened during week 29: Big preparation in Vanuatu for the Celebrations of the 40th anniversary of their independence. What was once broken was fixed Interviews with the Mission President and district councils where the Spirit was felt and   brought a desire to be obedient.   We attended the district council of the Blacksands district We were blessed by technology as we visited with family members.  Little Emma could not leave her daddy's ear alone.  It was so much fun to pull on it. (for her of course, not daddy) He bore it patiently for awhile until mom removed her to play with something else. 😁 Calvin had so much to tell us about toys and the accident of his brother stepping on a toy and breaking it in the process. And Calvin expressed his complete confidence that his dad will fix it.  No pressure Stephen but he is counting on you.  We share his confidence.
