2019 Week 22 (27 May- 2Jun)

At the beginning of May we were with all  the mission presidents and their wives from the Pacific Area.  Sister Fox, wife of the Tahiti mission President, made this drawing to represent the mission president and his wife trying to keep their missionaries safe. I just love that drawing.

Santo Zone Conference

The Allens, one of our senior couples, are now serving in Santo.  They started their mission in the Solomon Islands.  We are so thankful for their willingness to now go help in the Luganville district in Santo.

The beautiful sister missionaries of Santo Zone.

After a great conference and meeting with the missionaries, we are waiting at the airport for our flight back to Port Vila.  I will have one day to rest and do laundry then it is off to New Caledonia.

30 May 2019

I enjoy visiting all the missionaries of our mission and learning during zone conferences with them.  I do have to admit that going to New Caledonia is an extra bonus; it's in French and it feels like home because of it.
The view from our room

A wonderful group of missionaries.  Next transfer, in two weeks, 3 of them are returning home.  Sister Simmons from Las Vegas is serving as a sister training leader.  ElderTetuaiterai and Sister Hauata from Tahiti.  I know their mission has been an influence for good for the rest of their lives.

After zone conference, we were invited to attend a cultural event to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the Stake in Noumea
Some of our missionaries participated in singing.

I love to take pictures of president taking pictures.      Elder Papai and Elder Lockhart

This is Eli Anihai. He is 5 years old. After the interviews
with the missionaries on the 30th, we were invited to attend a missionary counsel meeting with the zone leaders and Eli's dad who serves in the high council with one of his responsibilities being
missionary work.  We stayed for supper with the family after the meeting.  Eli showed us a cool lego missionary man he had.  We made a new friend.

The members did such a great job with the dances, even the little ones amazed us.

1 June 2019

We had a little bit of time to enjoy a walk along the seashore on Saturday morning.  All along the boardwalk there are fitness equipment.  I had to try one.  What a great idea.  What better view when one exercises.

We participated in the Saturday session of Stake conference.  We particularly enjoyed  training and giving talks in French.  It reminds us of our years serving in the Church in Quebec.

Stake Conference in Noumea

The Leaders in the Noumea Stake.  Elder Dudfield was presiding at the Stake Conference.  He is serving as an area seventy.
Keeran Guidi, le fils du President de Pieu aime construire avec des legos.  J'ai pense a Jared et Jacob.

There is this little creek behind the Stake President's property.  It is so peaceful there.  I understand why he has a little "office" on his land, surrounded by fruit trees and flowers, the only sounds are from the wind  in the leaves and the flowing of this creek.

An ideal place to be CALM AND HAVE A COCONUT.

A great message from President Nelson I read today:

" Another element in drawing the Savior's power into our lives is to reach up to Him in faith.  Such reaching requires diligent, focused effort.
Do you remember the biblical story of the woman who suffered for 12 years with a debilitating problem? She exercised great faith in the Savior, exclaiming, " If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole." This faithful, focused woman needed to stretch as far as she could to access His power.  Her physical stretching was symbolic of her spiritual stretching.
Many of us have cried out from the depths of our hearts a variation of this woman's words:"If I could spiritually stretch enough to draw the Savior's power into my life, I would know how to handle my heart-wrenching situation.  I would know what to do.  And I would have the power to do it."
When the Savior knows you truly want to reach up to Him-when He can feel that the greatest desire of your heart is to draw His power into your life- you will be led by the Holy Ghost to know exactly what you should do." ( Drawing the Power of Jesus Christ into Our lives. April 2017 President Russell M. Nelson)

I know this is true.

Mifala lavem yufala tumas.
