2020 Semaine 28 (6-12 juillet)
View from the Parliament of Vanuatu
Grand-papa started the week with a visit to the Honorable Prime Minister of Vanuatu, Honorable Bob Loughman, with the Port Vila Stake President, President Yvon Basil. They gave him a letter from the Pacific Area Presidency, congratulating him for his recent election as the Prime Minister.
Two missionaries coming back home to Vanuatu from completing their missions were released this week. Grand-papa also started the regular round of interviews with the missionaries serving in our mission. This will continue this coming week.
I went with one of the STL (Sister Training Leaders) companionship to teach a sister who was just baptized. That was a sweet experience. I love to teach the gospel. It brings me so much joy.
This week, studying Alma 31, I was thinking of "my fellow laborers" like Alma calls those who went with him to preach the gospel.
My prayer is like Alma's in Alma 31:33-35
" Wilt thou grant unto them that they may have strength, that they may bear their afflictions which shall come upon them. O Lord, wilt thou grant unto us that we may have success in bringing them again unto thee in Christ. Behold, O Lord, their souls are precious, and many of them are our brethren; therefore, give unto us, O Lord, power and wisdom that we may bring these, our brethren, again unto thee."
I could feel how precious this sweet sister we taught, Eliane, is to our Heavenly Father. I felt so much love for her and the two wonderful sister missionaries I was with.
I felt the words of Alma when he said to Korihor: "What doth it profit us to labor in the church save it were to declare the truth, that we may have rejoicings in the joy of our brethren?" Alma 30:34
Life in Vanuatu
I have been taking pictures of signs I saw this week at the doctor's clinic and the market.

Renovation
I am posting again the picture of the bathroom from last week. Notice the reflection in the mirror of the curtains.
And after one week of dust (they cut the charcoal colored granite counter in the small bathroom) and no hot water in the shower, we now have the upgraded counter top and doors to the cupboards.
Do not feel sorry for us about the hot water. We have two sources of hot water in the home. So we filled these two containers at the kitchen sink with very hot water and brought them in the shower to mix with the cold water we had from the shower. It worked fine. And I have to admit that I was relieved we were out of hot water in the shower for only 3 days.
We are pleased with the changes even if
we did not decide on any of them.
I did some changes with the curtains after washing them.
Today, it is July 12th and it is our beautiful daughter Melanie's birthday. We are anxious to talk to her tomorrow. We are so proud of her.
Holding her niece, last addition to our family
I am so thankful that
Mifala lavem yufala tumas.
