2020 Semaine 40 (29 sept-4 oct)

Today I am doing week 39 and week 40 for the blog.  Last week was spent with the missionaries from the Philippines.

The greatest thing that happened on Week 39 was

TWO BIRTHDAYS !!!

Kade turned 10

Jacob turned 14

It was the  BEST talking with each one.  We did not want to say goodbye.  Instead we are saying
"Hope to be there with you at your next birthday boys."
It definitely is the desire of our hearts and we hope it will come true.

 WEEK 40

Last Monday when we came back to the office after saying goodbye to the 12 missionaries,  I saw this on the piano that Elder Ugay had been playing the day before during the interviews.  It warmed my heart and I thought it was the right attitude to overcome the sadness and to trust in the greater plans of the Lord.

The board of the incoming missionaries is very small.

Since April, after they are done with their online MTC, they are transferred to the board across from the incoming one.  It is their new assignments elsewhere;  Other , Other Mission and Out of Imos (meaning we do not see them assigned in our mission anymore).
Of course depending on the situation with the coronavirus, the reopening of borders and visa applications it can still change.  We are hoping it will change.  It is sad to see their faces and think we will not get to know them and serve with them.

This is our mission:

  29 valiant missionaries going forward.

4 of these missionaries are passed their release date and I hope for them, they will be home for Christmas.
8 of the missionaries in our mission are from Vanuatu.  They are the only new ones that have come since March. We are so thankful for their desire to serve with us.  Three out of these 8 have been assigned to the Port Vila Mission and the other 5 are with us until the borders open up.
Each one of the 29 missionaries are disciples of the Lord called to work with Him in His vineyard in Vanuatu.

Life on the roads of Vanuatu

New in the mission home

We have received the rest of the new chairs .  It looks very nice.

We have been enjoying General Conference today.  At 7:00 am we listened and watched the Saturday afternoon session then at 11:00 am the Women's Session. We are taking a little break for me to write this blog then we will enjoy the Saturday morning session.
Tomorrow we will be able to watch the Sunday afternoon session at 7:00am.
We will have to wait after we come back from the office for to the Sunday morning session.
I can't wait to savor each talk again in my upcoming studies.  It has been so uplifting and comforting so far.  The main thought that came to my mind has been to invite us all to prepare for the second coming of our Lord  and make our homes a place of security.
