2020 Semaine 42 (12-18 octobre)

My companion went to the Island of Malekula at the beginning of the week and I stayed in Port Vila.

The mission home is a big house and it was even bigger with grand-papa not here with me.  There were no accommodations in the area of the island that he was because of a Council of Ministers that was taking place from the 11th to 16th of October.  The district president prepared a bed for him in the  building of the district offices.  That in itself was very nice and on top of it, the district president insisted he stayed also with grand-papa after all their meetings.  He himself did not have a bed.

It was a great week of teaching with the missionaries and ...

also signing the lease for  a new home for our missionaries in Pango.  The landlord is a gem.  He put a brand new refrigerator and replaced the water heater. We found it driving back to the mission home after looking at some places last week.  There was a small sign to rent in the flower bushes.  It barely caught my eye.  We tried to call but the number was  incomplete.  We told the elders to be on the lookout.  Later that day they went back and someone was working in the garden.  They asked about the house and he gave them another phone number.  We met the landlord and visited the house.  The house and the price were just perfect.  I had learned earlier that week that the elders were living with rats.  One had walked on the stomach of one of them one night.  We really wanted to find them a better place to live.  Attempts had been made before to find a place, I was told without any success.  We are so thankful they are now staying in this fine little house.

I am reminded of what President Nelson said last General Conference:

" As you choose to let God prevail on your lives, you will experience for yourselves that our God is "a God of miracles."

We see it so many times in little and bigger ways.  We have no doubt.  He is a God of miracles and we are so thankful He is watching over us in every way.

We tried for the first time some chocolate made in Vanuatu.  It is pretty good.

Life in Vanuatu.

I took a picture while this sweet lady was putting gas in our car.

While walking around the pool we noticed a lot of bugs using it since we were not.
Like this big cockroach.

The week started with connecting with family.
Leah wanted to show us she had lost her first tooth.
We connected with Eli for his birthday.
We finished the week with Leah showing us a dance accompanied by her mom and sister 😀
and seeing Emma showing us how good she is at taking a few steps.  Can't believe she will be a year old in a month.  Thank you Melany and Etienne for making sure we see her grow up.

It is now time for our weekly walk around the pool.  My partner is waiting for me. 😍
