2020 Semaine 49 (29 novembre - 6 décembre)

We invite our family and friends to make it a Christmas tradition to view this short film about the birth of Jesus Christ.  We do rejoice in His birth because of His life and His Atonement!


Another wonderful week has gone by:

I really like the beautiful flowers used to decorate the chapel.  I saw a lot of beauty this week.


Whenever I see a child outside the mission office, I hurry to give him a Friend Magazine.  One week, a child with his mom came to the office.  He was about 5 years old.  I gave him a Friend Magazine and then proceeded to answer the mom's questions.  Just before they left, he looked at me and said: "I love the Book"  
This week I had the bonus of watching this young boy look through it.



This week we saw the beauty of the soul of these sweet sister missionaries as we participated in their companion study.


It was also my favorite time of the 6-week  transfer period:  ZONE CONFERENCE
Look at these beautiful servants of the Lord.  How we love these missionaries!


It was not only time to fill ourselves spiritually but also to replenish the First Aid Kits. 😊



Grand-papa has taken upon himself to gather mangoes everyday.  It is now part of his daily routine.





The beauty of a sunrise started one day this week.  I woke up around 4:45 one morning and I could see this red glow in the bathroom coming from the window.  I knew it was a sunrise and I have seen many gorgeous sunsets here but not a sunrise yet.

I also took a video to also capture the music of the birds singing.  The whole experience was heavenly!

"He hath made every thing beautiful in his time:" Ecclesiastes 3:11





The Office Elders got busy decorating the mission office.  I particularly like the setup on the two TV sets where we can watch and listen to music from the Tabernacle Choir and the short film of the Christ Child on one television.  On the other we can see pictures of the short film with scriptures and explanations.

Yesterday afternoon, we were outside in front of the mission home answering questions for the Vanuatu National Statistics Office--Census 2020

I looked up while the gentleman was writing down our answers on his tablet and I could see through the house the blue lagoon.  At this angle, it looked like it was right in our backyard.  I thought what a beautiful paradise Heavenly Father has sent us to.




I hope you enjoyed the beauty I witnessed this week.

One month done, 35more to go but who’s counting, we’ve been too busy.   At the beginning of the week, we welcomed 3 new sisters from the Island of Tanna and one elder from the island of Malekula.  All four have received their call to serve a mission.  The 3 sisters in Guam and the elder in Papua New Guinea.  So they come over to Port Vila for immunizations, shopping for clothes and receive their patriarcal blessing.  They will all leave on Aug. 1st for Fiji to go to the temple and the sisters also have an interview for their visa for Guam.  Then they will leave Fiji on August 8th to enter the MTC in New Zealand.   Sister Tucker, Sister Fau'onuku, Sister Duquette, Sister Andon at the  Black Sand Chapel So our nurse, sister Tucker was very busy this week.  She is the one that makes sure the ni-van missionaries  newly called missionaries from Vanuatu) have all they need to go serve on their mission.  She is the best and w...

2019 Week 3 ( 14-20 January)

When I think of this week, it is a mixture of happy and sad moments, of absolute beauty and some foolishness.  And mostly moments of feeling pure love then feeling more love. First let me talk to you about the green oranges of Vanuatu.  I know I spoke about it in a previous blog but there is more... The secret with green oranges is to make sure you ask the mamas before you buy them what they are.  In July and August they were mandarines.  In October they were lemons. And in January they are oranges but they taste like sweet grapefruits.  They all look alike, but the inside is very different depending on the season.  There is an object lesson in this.  I am sure papa/grand-papa will be able to use that someday. 2019- Week 8 (18-24 Feb.)

Cyclones Week  Here are some of the emotions we experienced this week:  We arrived at the airport Sunday night ( Feb.17) and we got a report from the area medical chief advisor who got there in the afternoon and saw the scans and spoke with the doctors in New Caledonia.  There is a lot more going on than what we were told when we left Vanuatu for each missionary, especially Elder Champoux. Okay time out.  We heard about a missionary struggling on another island, and we are also waiting to hear from some other missionaries concerning their health.   A million questions arise. The transfer in New Caledonia has to be rearranged.  What are we going to do? Where will they go? What now?  When will the injured missionaries come out of the hospital?  Are there anymore surprises with their health?  How are the people in the other car doing?  How can we help? And many more...Where to start?  We do not have answers.  ...
