2021 Month 1 (28 Dec. 20 - 3 Jan.)
It should be the last year we see the Unelco Hapi Niu Yia Sign. We enjoyed the years we spent in Vanuatu and we are looking forward for the half year remaining here.
Just a few pictures this week. The highlight being wishing happy birthday to our Miss Skylar and her famous words: " It's my birthday and I make the rules" 😆 We love you sweet girl.
I tried to make my apple pie with butter for the pie crust (not as good). The apple slices were too thin and there was too much caramel and cinnamon. 😒 Not my finest but we still ate it.
We enjoyed doing the count down with some of the children and grandchildren and we got to visit on zoom with mom, my siblings and their spouses. That was very enjoyable too. I so appreciate technology. I am looking forward to kiss real cheeks and hug all these loved ones.
We spent our p-day putting Christmas decorations away. Always a sad time for me. I really like the beautiful flashing lights. We should be putting different Christmas decorations next time.
We met today with the Mission Leadership Council at the mission home. It was an uplifting council and I really enjoy these moments with the missionaries. They are being trained as leaders and we know they will also be a blessing in their home country.
We discussed being a leader with the help of the Lord.
I shared some of Milton Camargo's talk at the October 2020 General Conference "Ask, Seek, and Knock"
Ask: reveals the desires of our heart and our faith
Seek: we humbly acknowledge that we still have much to learn and the Lord will expand our understanding, preparing us to receive more
Knock: is acting in faith. When we actively follow Him, the Lord opens the way before us.
I did not share with them this teaching from President Nelson but I really want to share it with you:
"Pray in the name of Jesus Christ about your concerns, your fears, your weaknesses--yes, the very longings of your heart. And then listen! Write the thoughts that come to your mind. Record your feelings and follow through with actions that you are prompted to take. As you repeat this process day after day, month after month, year after year, you will "grow into the principle of revelation."
"In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting and constant influence of the Holy Ghost."
I pray you will take our prophet's invitation to heart. It will bring you peace and joy. I promise.
Mifala lavem yufala
So very much!
