2021 Month 2:2 (8-14 February)

 Vanuatu this week:

This little guy looked all dressed up.  The ones we see usually are just a plain beige color.

I have to laugh whenever I see this pair of shoes underneath this desk.  This elder is obviously not comfortable wearing shoes.  😏

Grand-papa received this picture from these two who served with us in New Caledonia with the caption:

We are ready for the rivalry.  We are waiting for you President, to watch hockey games together.😃

I am always amazed at their way to travel.

While I notice them in the back of trucks, grand-papa notices the very flat tires.

I was talking with Jason and Audrée this week about our income taxes and how much I am stressed out this time of year particularly because we are far and I do not like putting that on them.  Thank you so much guys for your help and support with this and so much more.

This is the reason why the people of Vanuatu are so relaxed...

It was a full week of interviews for grand-papa and more lessons learned for both of us.

We are so thankful that Mason and Jacob were ordained as deacon and teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood this Sunday.  I think of President Nelson's invitation to the youth of the Church in 2018:

"You were sent to earth at this precise time, the most crucial time in the history of the world, to help gather Israel.  There is nothing happening on this earth right now that is more important than that.

This is the mission for which you were sent to earth."

I was studying this week about the priesthood and read this great talk from Elder Renlund in October 2017 " The Priesthood and the Savior's Atoning Power"

Here are some important teachings about the purpose of the Priesthood he mentioned:

" If the priesthood fails to deliver the opportunity to benefit from the Savior's atoning power, what would be its purpose?

Broadly speaking, priesthood holders covenant to help God in His work.

The purpose of the priesthood is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel.  We have the priesthood so that we can help Heavenly Father's children be relieved of the burdens of sin and become like Him."

What a great work this is.  The Lord Jesus Christ is coming back and we need to prepare ourselves and help others prepare for this wondrous event. 

 President Nelson said that as the youth enlists in the Lord's battalion and help gather Israel, they have the opportunity to be "part of something big, something grand, something majestic"

I know that 

"This is the mission for which you were sent to earth." 

It is mentioned in my patriarchal blessing that I will receive the wisdom to teach my children and I will be able to help them accomplish their mission to help prepare the way for the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I invite our grandchildren who have not yet received their patriarchal blessing to pray about it and to prepare to receive it.  It is a precious message from Heavenly Father especially for you.
