Our Time in Vanuatu

I had to take a picture of this advertisement sign close to the mission office to wish you all a wonderful year 2019. Monday December 24th we had a get together with the Efate and Tanna Zones for a little bit of celebration.  We watched the First Presidency Christmas Devotional then we had a gift exchange and we ate a very nice lunch ( sandwich bar).  Then we had a few games.  We had a lot of fun watching the missionaries try to open a wrapped gift using two big spoons after putting on a hat, scarf and oven mittens.  Of course they had to do it before someone else rolled a 6 on the die. The 25th and 26th we were able to talk to our children while missionaries were also calling home.  We had some missionaries calling from the mission office and the other ones from Church.  It was supposed to be the mission home but we are still struggling with our internet. Joyeux Noel evriwan! I cannot find any Nativity set here so I decided to make one. This darling sister, Sister Meyer gave us a Christmas ornement she made ( drawing and all)  And a picture of the Savior she made in June this year.  I will treasure them for ever.  It is hard to imagine that tomorrow it will be Christmas Eve here.  Look at this beautiful tree filled with purple flowers from our backyard. And how about the avocado tree that I can see from the kitchen.  Look at the size of the avocados.  I was told that they should be ready to pick in February.  I can only imagine the size they will be by then.  I will take some pictures of them.  Because of the wind and rain some have fallen down and I took three in the house to ripen two weeks ago.  They were small and very good.   Monday was dentist day.  I took Elder Baca to the dentist.  His companion that day was a missionary waiting to g...
