2020 Semaine 29 (13-19 juillet)

What happened during week 29:

Big preparation in Vanuatu for the Celebrations of the 40th anniversary of their independence.

What was once broken was fixed

Interviews with the Mission President and district councils where the Spirit was felt and
brought a desire to be obedient.

We attended the district council of the Blacksands district

We were blessed by technology as we visited with family members.  Little Emma could not leave her daddy's ear alone.  It was so much fun to pull on it. (for her of course, not daddy) He bore it patiently for awhile until mom removed her to play with something else. 😁

Calvin had so much to tell us about toys and the accident of his brother stepping on a toy and breaking it in the process. And Calvin expressed his complete confidence that his dad will fix it.  No pressure Stephen but he is counting on you.  We share his confidence.

As I am writing what has happened this week, I see a correlation in Alma 34 that I studied this week.

Preparation for the celebration:
Alma 43:32
" For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day for this life is the day for men to perform their labors."

What is broken can be fixed:
Alma 34: 8,18
"And now, behold, I will testify unto you of myself that these things are true.  Behold I say unto you, that I do know that Christ shall come among the children of men, to take upon him the transgressions of his people, and that he shall atone for the sins of the world; for the Lord God hath spoken it."
"Yea, cry unto him for mercy; for he is mighty to save."

The Holy Ghost gives us a desire to obey:
Alma 34:38
"That ye contend no more against the Holy Ghost, but that ye receive it, and take upon you the name of Christ; that ye humble yourselves even to the dust, and worship God, in whatsoever place ye may be in, in spirit and in truth; and that ye live in thanksgiving daily, for the many mercies and blessings which he doth bestow upon you."

District Councils:
Alma 34:19,27
"Yea, humble yourselves, and continue in prayer unto him."
"Yea, and when you do not cry unto the Lord, let your hearts be full, drawn out in prayer unto him continually for your welfare, and also for the welfare of those who are around you."

Emma pulling on daddy's ear:
Alma 34:40-41
"And now my beloved brethren, I would exhort you to have patience, and that ye bear with all manner of afflictions...
But that ye have patience, and bear with those afflictions, with a firm hope that ye shall one day rest from all your afflictions."😁

The blessing of technology that brings us together:
Alma 34: 31,36
"...now is the time and the day of your salvation; and therefore, if ye will repent and harden not your hearts, immediately shall the great plan of redemption be brought about unto you."
"And this I know because the Lord hath said he dwelleth...in the hearts of the righteous...and...the righteous shall sit down in his kingdom, to go no more out; but their garments should be made white through the blood of the Lamb"

For now, technology brings us together.  We know like Alma and Amulek that the Atonement of Jesus Christ has the power to bring us together for all eternity.

  1. It's alway good to hear how things are going on your mission. What a blessing you are to those saints and missionaries. It's looks like a beautiful place. God's creations are amazing. We stay close to home with this pandemic. Blessing still come in spite of everything going on here. I've been busy making lots of masks and donating them. Keeps me busy. Love to both of you
