Complete shock!!!
Many tears of joy!
So thankful!
So much love and joy in my heart
In a nut shell, these are the feelings that overcame us when we heard, to start our week, that
a temple will be built in PORT VILA, VANUATU !!!!!!!!
We always felt that a temple would come one day to Vanuatu. Grand-papa felt that it would be sooner or later. And we never dreamed we would be sitting in the living room of the mission home hearing this wonderful news! I felt on cloud nine the whole week.
Much still has to be done before the wonderful people of Vanuatu can enjoy the blessings of a temple in their midst. The work will continue strong with the added bonus of seeing the light coming closer to them with this announcement.
Preparation! What a great word and how important it is!
" If ye are prepared ye shall not fear." President Nelson reminded us last week. He spoke on how Captain Moroni helped his people to prepare in difficult and uncertain times. 2020 qualifies for difficult and uncertain and we can learn by applying what he did.
"First, he helped them create areas where they would be safe--"places of security" he called them. Second, he prepared "the minds of the people to be faithful unto the Lord." And third, he never stopped preparing his people physically or spiritually."
President Nelson spoke to the women. I share his words with the women of our family. Let us create places of security, prepare our loved ones to be faithful unto the Lord and never stop preparing our loved ones physically and spiritually.
He continued: "Please, keep going! Your vigilance in safeguarding your homes and instilling faith in the hearts of your loved ones will reap rewards for generations to come." "The Lord placed you here now because He knew you had the capacity to negotiate the complexities of the latter part of these latter days. He knew you would grasp the grandeur of His work and be eager to help bring it to pass."
I know we can!
Great family moments this week:
We were happy to see Eli taking notes during General Conference. Good job Eli.😘
We were interviewed by our amazing Halle for a school project.
It was so absolutely delightful to chat with her. What a great job you did. You have a talent, that is for sure. And we are not just saying that because we are your biggest fans. We truly believe it. Hope we can visit again like this before we go back home. We realized even more how much we miss chatting with you. That was up there with learning about the temple. It kept us on cloud nine after we spoke to you...
and also speaking with Mylene for her birthday.
It was a heavenly (cloud nine) week!!!!!
More pictures of beautiful Vanuatu:
Pango beach right next to where we live.
We were in the area with the missionary team looking for a new house for them.

We have more time to spend with the missionaries and this is the greatest bonus at this time of pandemic.
Study time with the missionaries in Ohlen.
Life in Vanuatu:
We went to a chinese restaurant with a sister in our ward, her daughter and a friend that is interested in knowing more about the gospel. While we were waiting for them to arrive I enjoyed watching these beautiful birds.
I was noticing the one in the middle at the back of this truck.. It looked like he was singing and enjoying himself.
After Cyclone Harold last April, the bush chapel in Banban, Santo was flattened. This is the temporary chapel the members built.
Elder Joe Massia, from Tanna, came a few weeks before we arrived. He was waiting for his visa to go serve in Africa. We learned much later he had not gone to the MTC or the temple. In January 2019, he went to the Fiji Temple, then to the MTC in New Zealand and came back in March 2019. He never made it to Africa, but a year after serving with us in Vanuatu, he was assigned to Fiji. He could not come back to Vanuatu at the conclusion of his mission in June 2020 because of borders being closed. He finally arrived at the end of September and completed the quarantine this Friday. Grand-papa released him as a missionary and we took him to the airport to return on the island of Tanna this morning. Thank you Elder Massia for your faithful service and for continuing to build Zion in Vanuatu.
We are thankful for the many blessings we receive. We are thankful for the wonderful support of our family through Messenger, Facebook and little elves ready to give us little hugs.😉
