2021 Month 1:2 (4-10 January)

At the beginning of this week we went around each district during their district council to share with all the missionaries who will succeed us as mission president and wife.

We did not take a picture of one of the districts.  One team in that district was indisposed and we decided to take a picture of everyone in this district at a later time.

We gave the missionaries the following picture of Mark and Jean Messick with their bio.

Mark J. Messick, 63, and Jean W. Messick, five children, Mueller Park 5th Ward, Bountiful Utah Mueller Park Stake: Vanuatu Port Vila Mission, succeeding President J. Benoit Duquette and Sister Diane Duquette. Brother Messick is a current ward mission leader, and is a former bishop, high councilor, ward Sunday School teacher, ward Young Men president, ward Young Men adviser, and missionary in the Canada Montreal Mission. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Harold Bruce Messick and Ruth Anna Messick.

Sister Messick is a current ward missionary and is a former ward Young Women presidency counselor, Young Women adviser, stake Primary presidency counselor, ward Primary presidency counselor, ward Primary teacher, ward music chairman and ward choir director. Sister Messick was born in Provo, Utah, to Boyd W Winterton and Bonnie Jean Moesser Winterton.

It is a small world in the Church.  Mark Messick served in Montreal from 1976-1978.  Grand-papa served in Paris from 1976-1978 and I served in Toulouse from 1977-1978. He sent us a copy of the only Sunday School and Sacrament meetings program he saved from his mission.

                                                                                                                        😃

                                            A small world indeed.

We were following a truck this week with this image.  It made me think that we need to remember who we are and who we represent all the time.  We are watched.

Grand-papa went teaching with a companionship.  It is always a wonderful opportunity!

It is the rainy season right now and we do see a lot of rain.  If you can see through the rain drops on the car window, the little beetle car is surrounded by water.  This is on our way back to the mission home.

We join the Erakor Branch for Church today.

I enjoyed getting to know more sisters in Relief Society and watching this little pikinini blowing  a raspberry! 😍

Priesthood meeting

Young Men Young Women

We were asked to bear our testimony during Sacrament meeting.  When I looked into their faces, old and young, I could feel our Heavenly Father's love for them.  We have so much love for them also.
My heart was touched as I listened to the comments of the sisters in Relief Society.
I was reading Sister Michelle D. Craig's talk from last General Conference.
"you too can pray for the Lord to open your eyes to see things you would not normally see...
see clearly who God is and who we really are.  Ask God to reveal these truths to you, along with how He feels about you.  The more you understand your true identity and purpose, soul deep, the more it will influence everything in your life.
Understanding how God sees us prepares the way to help us see others as He does."

After I studied this talk, I prayed Heavenly Father to help me see.  This is why I felt so much love for our ni-van brothers and sisters today.  I invite our children and our grandchildren to experience this for themselves.  Pray Heavenly Father to help you see as He does.  It WILL influence everything in your life.  It edifies, it brings light and more light.  It brings joy.  You can't pass that up.

Au revoir from beautiful Vanuatu !
