2021 Month 2:4 (21-28 February)

The best way to end a week, a month is to be with family.  How we love you and miss you! It was a week of growth and learning.  Plans fell through.  Problems kept coming up.  And through it all the comforting Holy Ghost was there teaching and guiding. We heard the voice of the Lord every day this week, one way or another, through family, comment on Facebook, studying with the missionaries, studying our scriptures and quiet inspirations coming as we were pondering and trying to find answers, that kept us going. "Our Father in Heaven gives good things even His only begotten Son" My prayers were answered and I saw the hand of the Lord even after our plans fell through. We had just been to the airport and our sisters who were supposed to leave were not able to.  We had made an appointment that morning with the sisters in Erakor to join them for part of their scripture study.  I was disappointed with the event of the morning but I knew that I would find solace in our study with

It was an EARTHSHAKING week!  Literally! That is my spot when I read the scriptures in the morning and this is where I was sitting Monday morning when I first heard the patio doors rattle  a little bit.  Then I felt the couch vibrating.  There is not a feature like that in these recliners.  I got up  quickly to stand in the doorway behind. By that time it had stopped.  Grand-papa was in another room.  He felt it also but he did not move.  He likes those.  Me, not so much.  More aftershocks came but they were milder where I was. Tuesday we are at the mission office.  The three missionaries working at the office just came in and we are talking when all of a sudden it starts shaking again.  This time I was standing next to grand-papa and I had to grab his arm, I was starting to feel dizzy.   After the shaking,  he brought me to the desk where I work and I sat there for a little bit  about 5 minutes) until it was time to call Arianne for her birthday.  I went in the mission president'

Vanuatu this week: This little guy looked all dressed up.  The ones we see usually are just a plain beige color. I have to laugh whenever I see this pair of shoes underneath this desk.  This elder is obviously not comfortable wearing shoes.  😏 Grand-papa received this picture from these two who served with us in New Caledonia with the caption: We are ready for the rivalry.  We are waiting for you President, to watch hockey games together.😃 I am always amazed at their way to travel. While I notice them in the back of trucks, grand-papa notices the very flat tires. I was talking with Jason and Audrée this week about our income taxes and how much I am stressed out this time of year particularly because we are far and I do not like putting that on them.  Thank you so much guys for your help and support with this and so much more. This is the reason why the people of Vanuatu are so relaxed... It was a full week of interviews for grand-papa and more lessons learned for both of us. We are

If I look right, the sky is blue and there are no clouds If I look in front, there are many clouds. Same blue sky.  One view is more menacing and the other peaceful.  It is tempting just to look right and ignore the dark clouds approaching.  It is important though to look forward and see what is coming to prepare.  It confirmed what I had been studying this week in D&C 11 "A great and marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men" verse 1 "I speak unto all who have good desires" verse 27 "if you desire, you shall be the means of doing much good in this generation." verse 8 "put your trust in that Spirit which leadeth to do good, to do justly, to walk humbly, to judge righteously; and this is my Spirit." verse 12 "I will impart unto you of my Spirit, which shall enlighten your mind, which shall fill your soul with joy;" verse 13 "cleave unto me with all your heart, that you may assist in bringing to light those
